"Gunnel Nyman – lasin runoilija" is a documentary portrait of Finnish designer and glass artist Gunnel Nyman, regarded as one of the most important figures in the development of modern Finnish glass art. The film explores her work and artistic vision, focusing on the distinctive, lyrical quality she brought to glass during the 1940s.

Nyman’s approach was characterised by a close sensitivity to material, form and light, with nature serving as an important source of inspiration. Her sculptural glass works, including such celebrated designs as Fasetti, Calla and Serpentiini, helped establish a new direction in Finnish glass design. The documentary presents the work of an artist whose career was cut tragically short, but whose influence extended well beyond her lifetime.
