"Rut Bryk: Perhosen kosketus" is an intimate portrait of Finnish ceramic artist Rut Bryk, a pioneer of modern ceramic art. Through the recollections of people close to Bryk and experts familiar with her work, the documentary explores her personality, artistic world and extensive body of sensitive ceramic works.

The film presents Bryk as an artist whose life and work connected very different environments, from major European cities to the remote landscapes of Finnish Lapland. Rather than explaining her art through Bryk’s own words, the documentary builds a personal portrait through the perspectives of those who knew her and understood her work.
