Yrjö Rosola
Yrjö Rosola (1904 – 1989). Originally trained as a sculptor, Yrjö Rosola brought a monumental, architectural perspective to the world of glass. He was a pioneer of glass relief decoration, creating powerful works that blurred the lines between industrial design and fine art. His large-scale, sandblasted glass murals and sculptural pieces were celebrated at international exhibitions, showcasing a unique ability to give heavy, solid material a sense of movement and narrative. Rosola’s legacy is one of strength and grandeur, marking him as a key figure in Finland’s heroic era of decorative arts.
