Harri Koskinen
Harri Koskinen (b. 1970) is the standard-bearer of contemporary Finnish minimalism, known globally for designs that are as honest as they are ingenious. He achieved international stardom almost overnight with his 1996 Block Lamp—a lightbulb cast inside a block of glass that is now part of MoMA’s permanent collection. Koskinen’s philosophy is rooted in finding the most functional and uncompromising solution to a design problem. Whether working with glass, furniture, or tech, his work remains a masterclass in clarity, durability, and timeless Nordic pragmatism.
