Aimo Okkolin
Aimo Olavi Okkolin (1917–1982). A master of light and form, Aimo Okkolin began his journey at the legendary Riihimäki Glass as an engraver before rising to become one of its most influential designers. He was renowned for his ability to transform heavy lead crystal into delicate, nature-inspired masterpieces through deep, intricate cuts and vibrant splashes of color. His most celebrated creation, the "Water Lily" (Lumpeenkukka, 1960), became a true icon of Finnish glass art, holding the title of Riihimäki Lasi’s all-time best-selling individual object.
