Tove Slotte-Elevant
Tove Catarina Slotte-Elevant (b. 1957) is the artistic bridge between Tove Jansson’s beloved stories and the everyday lives of millions. As the lead illustrator for Arabia’s Moomin ceramics since 1989, she has carefully adapted Jansson’s original drawings to fit the world of tableware. With a deep respect for the source material and a keen eye for ceramic design, Slotte has turned simple mugs and bowls into cherished collectibles. Her work has made the Moomin series a global phenomenon, bringing a touch of Finnish storytelling and warmth to breakfast tables across the world.
