Heljä Liukko-Sundström
Heljä Tuulia Mirjam Liukko-Sundström (1938-2024). A beloved storyteller in the world of Finnish ceramics, Heljä Liukko-Sundström had a unique gift for touching hearts through her art. Working at Arabia for over 50 years, she created a whimsical universe where nature and human emotions meet. While she designed sophisticated industrial pieces like the Tuuli tableware, she is most famous for her ceramic "story tiles" and charming sculptures. Her recurring motif of the white hare became a symbol of tenderness and wonder, making her work a cherished part of Finnish homes across generations.
