Kristiina Riska

Kristiina Riska (b. 1960). One of Scandinavia's most prominent contemporary ceramic artists, Kristiina Riska is famous for her monumental, hand-built sculptures that seem to defy the limits of clay. As a long-standing member of the Arabia Art Department, she creates large-scale, ethereal pieces that play with light, shadow, and negative space. Her work often features thin walls and perforated surfaces, making heavy ceramic feel light and translucent. Riska’s art is a deep exploration of form, where each piece feels like a living, breathing organic structure.
