Nanny Still
Nanny Elisabet Still McKinney (1926 – 2009). A true trailblazer, Nanny Still was only the second woman designer to join the Riihimäki Glassworks, where she spent over 25 years redefining Finnish glass. Known for her sophisticated use of color and daring forms, she moved effortlessly between delicate art glass and bold, industrial design. Her work—from the iconic Grapponia series to the futuristic Apollo lanterns—radiates a sense of elegance and technical brilliance. Even after moving to Belgium, she continued to influence European design, leaving behind a legacy of objects that are as much sculptures as they are functional items.
